Description

This is a specimen of the Common Globe Skimmer (Pantala flavescens) collected this season.

This dragonfly is highly migratory and is widely distributed in tropical and temperate regions. It has large head and compound eyes, giving it a distinctly southern feel, but with global warming, it may eventually overwinter in Honshu.
