[Heirloom Variety] Hassho Mame (Mucuna Bean) - 15 Seeds
Cultivation Characteristics:
Mucuna beans are climbing plants native to India, and are called Hassho Mame (eight-sho bean) due to their abundant harvest.
A key characteristic is their rich content of a compound called L-DOPA. In particular, they tend to be very high in iron compared to other beans.
Sow seeds from early April to early June. Purple flowers bloom from October onwards, and the pods are harvested from mid-November to December when they turn brown to black and dry.
You can harvest a large amount from a single plant.
They are very vigorous and thus suitable for green manure in abandoned farmland.
