Compared to metal, the wooden mouthpiece does not have condensation, allowing for longer playing time and a warm feel.
The surface of the wooden mouthpiece is coated with synthetic lacquer (cashew), making it durable. Cashew is a safe coating also used for the top coating of tableware.
