An antique piece from around 1880-1900.
Charming with its plump duck silhouette and the chic elegance of floral patterns like orchids.
Likely Milanese technique from Italy, or bobbin lace from Belgium or France.

The comical bird's proud expression emerges from a hand-knitted, small openwork mesh.
Outline embroidery.
The openwork stitches, beak, chest, legs, and wings are meticulously embroidered.

A heartwarming, delightful, and soothing scene.
A wonderful small work with a picture-like presence.

Mature floral patterns stand out from the mesh.
They appear to be orchids, tulips, crocuses, etc.
They might also resemble people with their arms outstretched or doing a vaulting horse.

The edges of the petal scallops have delicate picot lace.

The soft and natural texture is also very appealing.
