・This is a work that captivates with its slender, graceful form of a girl and an expression that evokes a lovely and innocent heart.
The ancient and gentle texture unique to dry lacquer evokes a distant era. This is my personal impression. ^ - ^
・The underside of the wooden box lid has Dry Lacquer Statue Matsumoto? Sensei written in pencil.
Also, the wooden base has a Matsumoto seal.
・Dry lacquer is a lacquer technique introduced from Tang Dynasty during the Nara period. Because it can be molded like clay, it allows for the expression of soft clothing and facial expressions. It is often used in the production of Buddhist statues and is known worldwide, especially for the Ashura statue.
