1799 Isaac Weld Travels Through North America Canada Vol II Tree Calf Leather

Travels Through the States of North America and the Provinces of Upper and Lower Canada by Isaac Weld, Junior. This 1799 second edition, Volume II, is a remarkable piece of history printed for John Stockdale in London. The book is bound in a beautiful tree calf leather with ornate gilt borders and a decorative spine featuring red and black labels with gold-tooled fleur-de-lis accents. It includes sixteen plates, such as the impressive folding engraving of the View of the Lesser Fall of Niagara. The interior shows characteristic foxing and toning consistent with its age, while the binding remains sturdy with some shelf wear to the edges and spine.
