Vintage Made in Japan Ceramic Fawn Deer Bud Vase Figural Tulips Tree Trunk 1950s

This is a vintage Made in Japan figural ceramic bud vase, circa 1940s–1950s, in the whimsical post-war Japan import style. The tapered cylindrical body — meant to suggest a birch or speckled tree trunk — is glazed in soft lavender-gray with pale circle markings throughout. On one side, applied green stems with dark red tulip blooms curl up the body. On the other, a hand-painted fawn with big cartoon eyes and yellow-black markings leans playfully against the trunk. The underside is stamped “Made in Japan” in black ink on an unglazed heart-shaped base. ✦ The Details • Made in Japan — stamped black ink on unglazed base • Circa 1940s–1950s figural whimsy bud vase • Fawn / deer figure with applied tulips and green leaf accents • Soft lavender-gray glaze with circle/bubble motif • Approximately 5–6 inches tall • Some age-related darkening to rim and base — please see all photos • No chips observed; small amount of surface soil consistent with age
