This is an ethanol specimen of a very rare deep-sea fish, the juvenile Regalecus russelii.
This specimen was caught in Mie Prefecture on November 26, 2020.
Regalecus russelii are extremely rare catches, and even when caught, their fins are often in poor condition.
While this specimen has some torn fins, it is otherwise a very beautiful specimen.
This is a valuable specimen, but I am listing it due to specimen organization.
As this is a natural item, there may be some minor scratches. Please understand.
