Photo 9: On the commutator part of the armature, the area not contacted by the carbon brush is 26.7 mm. The area contacted by the carbon brush is 26.5 mm. The diameter has worn by 0.2 mm. The remaining carbon brush length is 12 mm. New is 15.4 mm. It has worn by 3.4 mm. There is still plenty of remaining brush, but one spring was damaged, so it was replaced with a new one. Photo 10: I tried to open the lid to replace the grease, but it was very tight and I could not open it. As a result, I replaced the entire unit (silver and black parts) with another one. The grease is from a unit with little usage time and still has a lot of the original yellow color. Photo 11: Old grease removed. Photo 13: Holts liquid gasket, 30 grams of genuine Makita hammer grease, the specified amount, Titebond threadlocker, and new carbon brushes were used.
