Reiwa 7 (2025) Harvest Hinohikari New Rice, Brown Rice 20kg. No Pesticides, Chemical Fertilizers, or Herbicides Used.

We began growing rice in 2022, revitalizing a rice paddy that had been left fallow for four years.

In 2024, our rice seedlings were heavily damaged by mystery snails, resulting in almost no harvest. However, in 2025, despite facing extreme heat and water shortages, we were able to achieve a more than sufficient harvest. Although weeds grew more profusely than last year, we cultivated the rice without any pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or herbicides, by hand-weeding in the early mornings of mid-summer. This spring,レンゲ (Chinese milk vetch) flowers bloomed across the fields once again.

As our rice has been very well-received in the past, we have decided to sell a portion of this year's harvest.

The taste is, as always, a clean, subtly sweet, and mild flavor that is not overpowering. It remains delicious even when cold, making it a safe choice for children's bento boxes.

?The brown rice has not been processed through a sorting machine, so it may contain some green rice, rice that has turned partially brown, or rice with husks still attached.
Green rice: This is rice that was harvested before ripening and has a light green color. It is said to make up a few percent of brown rice. It is higher in nutritional value and tastes better than other rice, and can be eaten as is. Once milled, it becomes indistinguishable from other rice.
Rice that has turned partially brown: This occurs when stink bugs feed on the nutrients during the ripening stage. While pesticides are used for control, some damage of this nature occurs with pesticide-free cultivation. Last year, there was significant stink bug damage, resulting in brown rice that did not pass inspection. However, it is barely noticeable, perfectly edible, and does not affect the taste. Please remove any pieces that concern you.
Rice with husks attached: Occasionally, rice that has not been fully hulled may be mixed in with the brown rice. Please remove these before washing and cooking the rice.
