This is a vegetable that can be easily grown in balcony planters. Purple romaine lettuce has vibrant, deep red leaves. It is characterized by its crisp texture and vivid red leaves, making it a useful addition to Caesar salads for color.

The parts not exposed to sunlight will remain green, creating a beautiful contrast with the reddish-purple color when the outer leaves are removed.

February-April, August-September
Harvest Period
For spring sowing: May-June. For autumn sowing: October-March (tunnel cultivation in winter).
Harvest is approximately 45-60 days after transplanting, when the plants reach a height of 20-30 cm.

?? Cultivation
* Soil Preparation: Prefers well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Commercially available vegetable potting mix is convenient, but since it dislikes acidic soil, adding dolomite lime to adjust the pH will reduce the chances of failure.
* Planting: Transplant when the seedlings have 3-4 true leaves (or 5-6 leaves). Since they grow upright like napa cabbage, a spacing of about 25-35 cm between plants is sufficient.
* Care: It is important not to let the soil dry out too much during the early growth stages. Applying additional fertilizer 2-3 weeks after transplanting will result in larger plants.
