Description
If you are growing seedlings from seed, sow seeds in pots from mid-July to early August, grow them for about 30 days until they have 5-6 true leaves. Since it is a hot season, provide shade with a horticultural net and grow them in a cool environment. If you transplant the seedlings from mid-August to early September, you can start harvesting from early November. Harvesting will continue through the winter until early spring.
If you are not going to eat the harvested Brussels sprouts immediately, parboil them until firm, let them cool, and then freeze them. Store them in small portions in freezer bags with zippers in the freezer, and when you use them, thaw them naturally before cooking.
