Thank you for viewing.

Approximately 400 seeds (more included) harvested from mochi-na grown organically at home.
(Photos 1, 2, 3)

Compared to komatsuna and spinach,
mochi-na has an outstanding germination rate and is an easy-to-grow, dark green, leafy vegetable.

How about growing your own safe and secure vegetables organically at home (they grow well in planters)?

*Mochi-na is a traditional vegetable similar to komatsuna,
characterized by its lighter green leaves and tenderness compared to komatsuna. Mochi-na has thin stems that can break during harvesting and does not keep well,
so it is not commonly found in local markets.

Harvest when the true leaves are 4-5 and the plant height is 20-25 cm. The thinned seedlings can be used as an ingredient in miso soup.
Sow in summer or winter (sowing in October allows you to use it in New Year's soup).

Besides ozoni (New Year's soup), it can be used in ohitashi (blanched greens), goma-ae (sesame dressing), miso soup,
and as an ingredient in pasta (Photo 5).

*Nutritional components of mochi-na
Mochi-na is a dark green, leafy vegetable, and its main nutrients include
carotene, calcium, vitamin C,
vitamin A, and vitamin B1.
It also contains iron and is recommended for those with anemia.
It is rich in vitamin C, which is good for those concerned about colds and rough skin. Calcium is beneficial for
preventing osteoporosis, and dietary fiber is effective for constipation.

*Mochi-na is also known as New Year's greens and
has been cultivated in the Owari region of Aichi Prefecture since ancient times.
During the Edo period, it was customary for the samurai of the Owari clan to eat mochi-na in their ozoni,
and it is said to have been considered auspicious, meaning to lift up (mochi) with greens (na).

Due to postal rate increases, prices have been raised since last year. Thank you for your understanding.
