Hachijo okra is a round-podded okra cultivated on Hachijo Island. Compared to regular okra, its pods are larger, softer, and have a subtle sweetness. It's characterized by its lack of ridges, resulting in a round cross-section rather than a star shape.
The okra flowers are also beautiful! (^-^)

You can enjoy them in various ways without getting tired of them, such as the classic boiled with mayonnaise, chopped as a condiment, or as a blanched side dish!

The ones harvested in summer are also sold at direct sales points as local produce.
We harvest every year from seeds that have been self-collected for over 15 years.
