Description
While there are several varieties of Tulsi, the type praised in ancient Ayurvedic texts as unparalleled and recognized by modern science as an adaptogen is the following:

*Please see the comments section for sowing instructions.

Scientific Name: Ocimum tenuiflorum
(Synonym: Ocimum sanctum)
Family: Lamiaceae, Genus: Ocimum, Tropical perennial (annual in Japan except for Okinawa)

1. Krishna Tulsi (Black Tulsi): Plant height 120 cm
2. Rama Tulsi (White Tulsi): Plant height 90-120 cm

Krishna Tulsi is considered to have the highest medicinal properties, with Rama Tulsi having comparable properties. Botanically, these two types are the same species.

Recent research suggests it is particularly beneficial for mental stress.

The seeds offered here were obtained from Amritapuri in South India and have been self-collected in Japan since 2009.
