Krishna Tulsi Seeds (Holy Basil) Approx. 200 Seeds

While there are several types of Tulsi, the variety praised in ancient Ayurvedic texts as unparalleled and recognized by modern science as an adaptogen is as follows:

Scientific Name: Ocimum tenuiflorum
(Synonym: Ocimum sanctum)
Family: Lamiaceae, Genus: Ocimum, Tropical perennial (annual in Japan except for Okinawa)

1. Krishna Tulsi (Black Tulsi): Plant height 120 cm
2. Rama Tulsi (White Tulsi): Plant height 90-120 cm

Krishna Tulsi is considered to have the highest medicinal properties, with Rama Tulsi having comparable properties. These two types are botanically the same species.

Recent research suggests it is particularly beneficial for mental stress.

The seeds offered here were obtained from Amritapuri in South India and have been self-collected in Japan since 2009.

Krishna (purple variety) will emerge.
Optimal Sowing Temperature: 25-35°C. Sowing is easier when the minimum temperature has stabilized above 15°C.

Optimal growing temperature is above 30°C during the day and above 18°C at night. It requires higher temperatures than temperate Sweet Basil, Ocimum gratissimum, and Kapoor Tulsi.

*Thai Holy Basil varieties such as Gapao Khao and Gapao Daeng are the same species as Tulsi but are different cultivars from Krishna and Rama Tulsi.

Thai Gapao is primarily selected for culinary use, while Indian Tulsi is selected for medicinal use.

*If you have leftover seeds, store them in the refrigerator. They will still germinate well after two years.
