Description
These are bulbs of Jomon scallions, said to be the origin of wakegi (a type of scallion).
They have just been dug up.
Sizes vary from small to large.
Let them rest in partial shade until around July, then bury them in the soil. You can cut the leaves as needed for toppings for somen noodles or miso soup. The cut leaves will grow back, so you can enjoy them multiple times.
By around Golden Week the following year, one bulb will have multiplied into about 10. The leaves will then begin to wither, so please dig up the bulbs and let them rest.
They can also be grown in planters.
