Lemon Seedling Citrus

This is a 3-gallon pot seedling of the 'Biafranca' lemon variety. It was grown from cuttings taken from our lemon tree last year.

The 'Biafranca' variety is easy for beginners to grow. It has fewer thorns, larger fruit than regular lemons, and a milder acidity. It is everbearing, meaning it flowers and fruits multiple times a year. In colder climates, it's best to grow it in a pot and move it under an overhang or indoors before temperatures drop. If a sudden cold snap is expected, it's advisable to protect it even if planted in the ground. (As this is a small seedling, we recommend growing it in a pot for now and transplanting it to the ground once it has grown larger. It prefers a location with plenty of sunlight and good drainage.)

New leaves are growing, but the root system may not be extensive yet. Some leaves have a whitish appearance due to our use of well water for watering; this is not a disease.

The seedling will be shipped in its pot, with no soil removed, packed directly into a box. We can also accommodate shipping via Mercari delivery or other services for an additional fee.
