Variegated Acanthopanax (Gokai-boku) is an attractive deciduous shrub, useful as an ornamental plant with high decorative value.
Its most striking feature is the beautiful white or cream variegation along the edges of its green leaves. The way the five-lobed leaves spread out is elegant, brightening up even shady corners of your garden with a fresh, vibrant look.
Another appeal is its characteristic hardiness, typical of the Araliaceae family. It is resistant to heat and cold and can grow in various locations, from full sun to partial shade, making it easy for beginners to enjoy as a colorful foliage plant. Its new spring shoots can also be enjoyed as wild vegetables, making it a versatile shrub that is beautiful to look at, easy to grow, and delicious to eat – a truly valuable addition to any garden.
It also makes a good bonsai tree.

The seedling in the second photo (cutting) will be sent via the 4th class mail service, removed from its pot and with its roots wrapped in damp kitchen paper.
