For species that prefer softer substrate such as *Allotopus moellenkampi*, *Prosopocoilus inclinatus*, *Nigidionus*, *Phalacrognathus muelleri*, etc., we recommend aging the substrate before use.

Inoculated Fungus: *Pleurotus ostreatus* (Oyster mushroom)
Wood: Oak
M-size: Diameter 6-8 cm
L-size: Diameter 8-11 cm
(Please allow for slight variations)

Hardness: The tip of a thin drill (1-2 cm) can be inserted into the substrate, excluding the core.

The hardness of the substrate can be adjusted by storing it at room temperature or in the refrigerator. (We recommend aging the substrate for colorful beetles.)

Unlike reishi wood, this substrate also serves as food for larvae.
