The Fortuny Lamp, designed by Mariano Fortuny, is an iconic piece from Pallucco, loved worldwide for over 100 years.

The Fortuny Lamp was experimentally produced in 1907 as indirect lighting for stages. Its design possesses a timeless modernism that belies its creation over a century ago.

The frame is made of epoxy powder-coated tubular steel. The legs are inspired by camera tripods and feature a height-adjustable center leg. The shade has an adjustable angle, typical of the era, and is made of fire-resistant cotton on the inside.

Mariano Fortuny

Born into a family of painters and collectors, Mariano Fortuny possessed a humanist spirit dedicated to curiosity, creative experimentation, and scientific research. He was thus called the Leonardo da Vinci of the 20th century. His constant embrace of diverse styles and innovative techniques made him a revolutionary figure in fashion, painting, photography, furniture, and stage design. He established his atelier on the top floor of a Venetian palace, which is now open as a museum, where he created numerous masterpieces.
