This is pumice that has been washed, dried, and then fired at high temperatures.
It is sterile, offers excellent drainage and aeration, and retains moisture. It is also very hard and resistant to crumbling, making it ideal for mixing with other soil components.
Large-sized particles are used as drainage material at the bottom of pots.
Its high drainage and aeration, along with its extreme hardness, make it suitable for succulent plant soil mixes, such as for Haworthia, Agave, and cacti.
It is also commonly used as a decorative top dressing for potted plants to improve their appearance.
