Buddhist Tablet (Ihai) - 5.5寸
Dimensions: Height 25.1cm, Width 12.7cm, Depth 16.6cm

A Buddhist tablet (Ihai) is a Buddhist altar fitting used to enshrine and honor the spirit of an individual. It is considered an important item for ancestral veneration.
The Buddhist name (Kaimyo) is inscribed on the front of the tablet.
Even without a Buddhist name, it is possible to create a suitable tablet using the deceased's secular name by adding 之霊位 (noirei) after the secular name. This is considered to have the same meaning as receiving a Buddhist name.

If you wish to have the Buddhist name and other details handwritten, we will do so free of charge. Please refer to the last image for a sample.
After your purchase, please provide the Buddhist name and Buddhist title (e.g., Koji for men, Daishi for women), the date of death, the secular name (full name), and the age at death. We will then handwrite these details for you free of charge. Of course, you are also welcome to purchase the tablet alone.

We will also handwrite the date of death, secular name (full name), and age at death free of charge.

In the Kanto region, the Buddhist name, date of death, secular name, and age at death are typically inscribed on the front of the tablet.

In the Tokai and western Japan regions, only the Buddhist name is inscribed on the front, with the date of death and age at death on the back.

There are regional differences. If you already have an ancestral Buddhist tablet, we can create the new one to match its layout.
