73 Recommended for Beginners, Roasted Bamboo, Clear Lacquer Finish, Classical Style 7 Holes, 7 Tone, Negishi Shinobue Studio
This is made to the same specifications as the Shishida and Maruyama shinobue flutes.
Recommended for women and children due to its small finger holes. Easy to play.
Most beginners can produce low notes, but struggle with high notes or the pee sound. Many are concerned about whether their current flute can produce these higher notes properly.
This flute was created based on feedback from instructors across various regions (easy to produce high notes, clear upper register, and affordable).
Beginners are advised to start with a more affordable flute and only purchase a more expensive one after they can produce upper and upper-register notes, and have tried playing various flutes in a store to find one that suits them. (Some flutes look good but cannot produce clear upper-register notes.) It is also said that learning progresses faster if one starts lessons after being able to produce some notes.
To prioritize ease of playing, sound, resonance, and affordability, there may be minor scratches, natural variations in shape, natural patterns, and natural curves.
An image shows a 10mm ball for reference of hole size.
Thickness: Approximately 17.5mm at the mouthpiece.
Length: Approximately 40.7cm.
Mouthpiece opening: Approximately 13.5mm.
Thickness: Slightly thin.
(Thicker flutes have better low-note resonance, while thinner flutes have better upper-register sound.)
Wall thickness: 2 out of 5 levels.
(Thicker walls produce better upper-register sound and resonance, while thinner walls are easier to play.)
Pitch: Approximately 7.5 hon.
Tonal range: Cleanly produces notes from Tsutone (Ro-on) up to the 5th upper register note.
What is Yakitake (Roasted Bamboo)?
This is the material with the best resonance among shinobue bamboo. Roasting bamboo thoroughly until it is hard improves its resonance. However, it is difficult to process due to the scarcity of suitable materials.
When made naturally, the resonance is further enhanced. Bamboo grows by competing for light. Therefore, bamboo that wins this competition is ideal for flutes. (We have been researching the physics of natural principles for many years and can identify suitable bamboo.)
What is Tōburi (Translucent Coating) finish?
Since no pigments are used in the paint, it makes it easier to produce sound. Furthermore, by carving grooves inside and allowing the paint to soak in, it further improves the ease of playing and resonance.
Please note:
Upper and upper-register notes are produced very clearly. When blowing strongly, please ensure there is no one around. Please be especially careful with small children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those who are unwell.
