This is a rare antique obi hand-painted with fabric paints.
It is an exquisite piece with a superb depiction of jade and foliage colors.
While it should be fine for wearing, the paint on the taiko (drum) section has hardened and cracked in some areas (Photo 7). There are also tatami mat splinters attached (Photo 8), scuffs, and mold on the back (Photo 9).
