Lenox Cream Ribbed Ovoid Vase Swirled Fluting Ivory Porcelain Made in USA

The mark on the base is the gold Lenox wreath with MADE IN U.S.A. beneath it, which is the mark Lenox used on its American made giftware rather than the imported lines. It matters because the body underneath is the real Lenox ivory china, not a bone china lookalike, and you can see the difference at the rim where the wall thins and goes faintly translucent. The decoration is entirely structural. Swirled flutes are moulded into the body and sweep up from the foot in a slow clockwise twist, gathering at the shoulder. There is no colour at all. That is the hardest kind of decoration to sell in a photograph and the easiest to live with in a room. It does not compete with whatever you put in it, and it does not date, because there is nothing in it to date. Nine inches, heavy for its size, and the glaze is flawless. Condition: Used.
