Speaker Cabinet, 12-inch Oval Back Specification, Handmade, Oak Color

This is a Fender-type speaker cabinet.

I build amplifier cabinets and speaker cabinets in my spare time from my main work as a furniture maker.

I've been steadily building these general-purpose speaker cabinets in my limited free time.

I selected SPF lumber with few knots for the main body and used high-quality linden plywood for the back panel.

Speaker: 12-inch specification
Body: SPF lumber (18mm thick)
Front panel: Oak lumber (12mm thick)
Back panel: Linden plywood (15mm thick)
Grille cloth: Wheat
Baffle board: MDF (12mm thick)
Speaker mounting screws: (4-point mounting, 5x20 truss head small screws included)
Speaker mounting hole pitch: (296mm)
Wiring: Switchcraft #11 mono phone jack, insulated washer with shoulder, plastic insulated washer, jack plate (note: even new jack plates may have scuff marks), BELDEN 9497, Faston terminals (Audio Technica TL205M, 5.2mm male side), Kester44 solder used
Rubber feet: Commercially available
Finish: Oil stain (oak color), urethane sanding sealer base coat, urethane semi-flat finish top coat
Dimensions: W500 x (D226 top, D260 bottom, 5-degree slant) x H410 (including 10mm rubber feet)

I put a lot of effort into making this cabinet meticulously, resulting in a solid construction that also affects its sound.

I hope you enjoy using this cabinet as a base for exploring your preferred tone by adding sound-absorbing material, changing speakers, or modifying the wiring.

The wood grain is continuous as the cabinet is assembled from a single board.

The older growth rings (which were on the outside of the tree) are positioned on the outside of the cabinet, just as they were when the tree was growing.

The main body is joined using half-blind dovetail joints.

I strive to build as carefully as possible, but please judge from the photos regarding any scratches, dents, warping, chips, cracks, uneven coloring, finish inconsistencies, or speaker mounting marks that may have occurred during the manufacturing process.
