Traditional Crafts Tea Box Gyokudo Kiln Complete Set of Tea Ceremony Utensils (Tea Bowl, Mizusashi, Futaoki, Hanaire, Decorative Fire Tongs)
277.20 $
Description
Gyodo Kiln is a representative pottery of Sado, fired from the iron-oxide-containing red clay produced from the mine shafts of Sado Mountain, known as Mumei-yo clay. Mumei-yo clay has finer particles than other potteries, resulting in a high shrinkage rate. It shrinks by about 30% from molding to drying and is characterized by its extremely hard, dense firing.
The tea box measures 31 x 20.5 cm on the top and 33 cm in height.
