Antique French Normandy Lace Brussels Applique & Galloon Embroidery

Antique French antique lace.
Delicate Brussels lace and
intricate Gallon lace embroidery from Belgium, possibly Switzerland, beautifully
adorn a seven-layer Normandy lace doily in three tones.

On a slightly khaki-gray tinted
tulle mesh lace,
fine bobbin lace embroidery of small Western chrysanthemums, leaves,
buds, mini roses, and other flowers, as well as chains,
are intricately appliquéd to form motifs, creating a very elegant Brussels lace rim.

A Gallon lace embroidery with a finely detailed needlework,
with sepia tones speckled over ivory.
Beautiful embroidery techniques woven with extremely fine thread are alternately arranged.

Within a chic frame, like curtains or medallions,
small chrysanthemums and plumply raised embroidered leaves float.
In the spaces, small, continuous dots and triangles of openwork are created by needlework.

Tiny French knots fill the frames.
This adds a sense of three-dimensionality, bespoke tailoring, luxury,
strength, elegance, and sophistication to the fabric.

Ecru bobbin-woven dots and
sprouting flowers that seem to sway and drift in the wind
are featured in 3/4 types of Valenciennes lace.
The center has a raised embroidery of daisies/margaritas.

Brussels lace is light and soft,
as if fluttering in the wind, yet it has body
and a dry, crisp texture like linen thread.
It may be made of linen thread, or a cotton and linen blend.

Valenciennes lace with a firm texture.
Generally made of cotton, but
it may also be made of linen thread, or a cotton and linen blend.

There are no noticeable scratches from a distance, and it is in beautiful condition for an old piece.
However, there are some darker gray spots or discoloration on the edge of the rim, possibly from age or rubbing (see final image).
This is for those who do not mind.

Please forgive the minor imperfections in this piece, a rare antique with historical details preserved for today.

It can be used as a cross to display serene objects such as bisque dolls, glass vases,
crucifixes, or statues of the Virgin Mary.
