Thank you for viewing.
This is a hanging scroll depicting the Eight Views of Omi, scenic spots around Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture.
The scroll beautifully and meticulously portrays the picturesque scenery of the Eight Views of Omi, such as Falling Geese at Katada, Evening Glow at Seta, and Evening Bell at Mii, with elegant colors. A lyrical Chinese poem is added at the top, creating an elegant atmosphere simply by displaying it in your tokonoma (alcove).
The inscription reads Shibata Ron sen, and the confident brushwork suggests it is a hand-painted work.
