Vintage Leonard & Lula Weebothee Zuni Turquoise Coral Sterling Cuff

Exceptional vintage Zuni sterling silver cuff bracelet by renowned husband-and-wife silversmiths Leonard & Lula Weebothee.  This striking collector’s piece features an elaborate cluster design set with numerous hand-cut turquoise and red coral stones. The large central medallion is surrounded by petite turquoise teardrops with coral clustered at the center, flanked by coordinating turquoise and coral side elements. Twisted rope accents, serrated bezels and silver beadwork complete the intricate handmade design.  Signed Leonard & Lula Weebothee, Zuni, N.M. on the reverse. Leonard (1923–1992) and Lula (1930–2004) are recognized Zuni silversmiths whose finely executed turquoise jewelry is highly collectible. Their work is documented in Zuni Jewelry: The Art and the People.   Sterling silver. The bracelet does not appear to carry a separate sterling fineness stamp; the auction house from which it was purchased identified the metal as sterling silver. Absence of a fineness hallmark is known on earlier Weebothee work.   Approx. 6” inside circumference end-to-end plus a 1.75” opening. Vintage patina and age-appropriate wear remain intact.
