Beautiful condition! Framed woodblock print - "Haru" by woodblock artist Shoko Abe, 1994, 11/60
Thank you for viewing.
This is a woodblock print (framed) by Shoko Abe, a woodblock artist living in Sendai.
She is a local artist who has been active for many years, known for her heartwarming style depicting landscapes and children with gentle colors, using rare Shiroishi washi paper.
This piece, Haru (Spring), was created in April 1994 and is numbered 11/60.
It comes with a sticker signed by the artist.
I have displayed it alternately with other works in my living room and on the landing floor. After the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, the frames were removed and stored.
This is a spring landscape of the Zao mountain range as seen from Katta Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture. It depicts the majestic and nostalgic expanse of Jizo-dake and Katta-dake under a clear blue sky, with a row of cherry blossoms in the foreground.
It is a heartwarming piece that evokes a sense of nostalgia, even for those who are not from the area.
Frame size: 30 x 39 cm
Print size: 15 x 25 cm
It is not too large, and the wooden frame has mellowed to a gentle ochre color with age, making it suitable for a room in an apartment or a wall in a shop.
This item has been kept in my home and has never been transferred to another party. Please purchase with confidence. Thank you.
