These are river trekking shoes created by incorporating Montbell's unique ideas into tabi (Japanese split-toe socks) and waraji (traditional Japanese straw sandals). Similar to waraji, the shoelaces pull from the heel side, achieving an excellent fit. The inside of the toe box is split for each toe like tabi, preventing foot slippage and providing a comfortable fit. Additionally, the ankle area uses soft and highly fitting ClimaPrene® [chloroprene rubber], which does not hinder ankle movement during river trekking and prevents sand and small pebbles from entering. The outsole uses polypropylene felt.

The polypropylene felt, which is water-resistant, offers excellent grip and durability, making it suitable for various conditions.


I used these when wading into shallow rivers for fishing.
I purchased them last summer and used them about 4 times. I am selling them because I have started serious fishing this year and purchased waders.
Please judge the condition from the images. The felt on the heel of the left shoe is slightly frayed and fuzzy in some areas. There are no peeling parts.
I usually wear size 27.5 sneakers. These fit perfectly when worn with Montbell's ClimaPrene wet socks (2.5mm thick, size L).
The original price was 9,500 yen.
