Kimono and obi made of "Kyu-maru" mud Oshima silk, unused.
I visited my aunt and gave her things she liked. She gave me a bolt of Oshima fabric in return. When I got home and unfolded it, I saw a price tag of 900,000 yen. I had it tailored even though I have no occasion to wear a kimono. I also bought a Nagoya obi for 70,000 yen at Takashimaya, but I have no opportunity to wear it. The size is in the last photo.
Regular Oshima doesn't have much color variation, but this kimono uses purple and a little brown, which might be why it was so expensive. I saw on TV that Oshima can only be woven about 10 cm per day, which is why it's an expensive kimono.
It still has the basting threads attached.
It's a great deal if the size fits.

I have lowered the price.
This is an expensive item. Since it is new, I will sell it for 33,000 yen. The other day, at a kimono shop in Yokohama, I saw a 7-maruki Oshima fabric for 970,000 yen. They say there are no longer weavers for Oshima Tsumugi. Genuine mud Oshima is a valuable item. This is a kimono with basting threads still attached.
