Frame Backpack "Makulu DX" Makalu Carrier

A frame bag made by Neutop during the backpacker boom of the 1980s.
I found it on Mercari a few years ago and couldn't resist buying it. I used it a few times for walking camping and trekking, but I'm selling it because I'm too old to use it anymore.
Although the backpack itself is bulky because it's a frame pack, it's very easy to carry because of its high center of gravity.
It has many pockets and a foldable cargo platform, making it ideal for carrying a complete set of gear, including tents and sleeping bags attached externally.
The frame is made of aluminum, which was revolutionary at the time.
(However, because the frame is wide, it can get caught and be dangerous in high mountains or dense brush.)

As you can see in the photos, the front cover, which was exposed to sunlight during storage, has some color fading due to sun exposure. However, it has been used very infrequently, with no fraying or tears in the fabric, and it is still fully functional.

The bag is attached with pins, so it can be removed and used as a backpack frame.

Comes with a dedicated rain cover (last photo).
(The photo shows it just placed on top, but it fits snugly when the drawstring is tightened.)

This is a considerable vintage item, so please purchase it after understanding the photos and condition.
