【Rare L Size】Purchased from IDEE, Holmegaard Viking Decanter, Clear

This is a vintage decanter Viking from the Danish company Holmegaard.

Purchased at IDEE several years ago.
Designer: Ole Winther.

Holmegaard is a long-established Danish glass manufacturer, loved and cherished for its proposal of high-quality glassware.

The plump carafe features an embossed Viking mark, which is charmingly Danish.

The body, made using the pressed glass technique, has a pouring spout and a clear embossed mark attached by hand.
This masterpiece achieves an expressive design through a little extra effort.

This type of carafe with the Viking face appeared in 1962 and was featured in Holmegaard's catalogs until 1973. It was produced in multiple colors, and this particular piece is the rare clear (colorless transparent) color, which is seldom seen on the market.

Unlike the more common smoke or blue colors, the transparency when light passes through and the beautiful way the medallion appears as a shadow are unique charms of the clear version.

The size is approximately 200mm wide, L size (large size), and it exudes an overwhelming presence as an objet d'art.

Width: Approx. 200mm
Height: Approx. 216mm

[Condition]
As this piece was selected by IDEE, it is in very good condition for a vintage item.
There are no noticeable chips or cracks, and the glass retains its high transparency.
(Please understand that minor bubbles inherent to vintage glass and slight scuffs on the bottom are part of its character.)

[Styling]
Its minimalist presence harmonizes beautifully with Aalto furniture, Nordic glass by Tapio Wirkkala, and even sophisticated spaces like modern architecture.
This is a precious vintage piece selected with IDEE's discerning eye.

We hope to pass it on to someone who will cherish it.
