Beautiful Vintage Mid-Century Woven Wood Splint Picnic Basket to add to your collection.  Up for sale is a charming, authentic mid-century woven wood splint picnic basket.  Featuring a classic dual flip-top solid wood lid, double drop handles, and sturdy metal hinges, this piece perfectly captures the retro Americana and country cottagecore aesthetic.  An incredible feature of this specific basket is its unique, handwritten history on the underside of the lid, featuring the original owner's name, address, and an old 2-letter exchange telephone number: P.C. Neal, E. Wenatchee, 1017 Baker Ave, Phone TU 4-6679. This incredible provenance dates the piece beautifully to the 1950s or early 1960s.  Condition Report:  * Overall Structure: Very sturdy with a completely intact, solid wood bottom. The handles are strong, and the metal hinges function smoothly.  * Wear/Flaws: Shows honest vintage wear consistent with age. There is some typical splintering/breakage to the wood weaving on one bottom corner and light scuffing on the top lid (please see detailed close-up photos).
