Steel Expander with Removable Parts, Reason for Sale: Defective
Described as having signs of use, but it was purchased new and I realized it was defective on the same day I used it. It has actually been used very little. I only handled it for a very short time.
As shown in the images, the welding at the joint with the spring is minimal, and the weld has peeled off.
It might be repairable by applying strong adhesive to the sleeve, but since it's a part that experiences force, I believe it would be safer to weld the entire joint rather than just a portion. If you are someone who can repair welds, this would be a great deal.
The spring cover is slightly torn when peeled back, so I recommend repairing it with vinyl tape or similar.
While it is possible to use it if you are careful not to let the spring detach, I believe it would be better to secure the connection properly for safety.
