5el (Fibel)
Hails from Kumamoto, currently resides in Okinawa.
Began her artistic endeavors in response to the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. Experiencing the earthquake, 5el felt the fragility of life firsthand and decided to live doing what she loves, which led her to become an artist. She is an illustrator who creates pop and witty works, often featuring motifs of flowers, plants, and fruits. Her symbolic pieces, rendered in vivid colors, possess a presence that leaves a lasting impression after just one viewing.
I personally love 5el's art,
and this piece was given to me by someone who knows of my admiration. I've been told this artwork is from the early period of 5el's artistic creation.
To commemorate the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo,
Suntory vending machines in the Kansai region
are being transformed into [Expo Art Vending Machines].
47 artists, each representing one of Japan's 47 prefectures, are using Suntory vending machines as their canvas. They are expressing a facet of the Osaka-Kansai Expo's theme, Designing Future Society for Our Lives, specifically The Sparkle of Life, as a common artistic theme, with each artist interpreting The Sparkle of Life according to their installation location.
5el is participating as the representative artist from Kumamoto Prefecture.
