【Rare Item】 Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine Offering Solid Ink "Jingū Boku" (Empress Jingū's Ink) in a Paulownia Box
Thank you for viewing.
This is an extremely rare antique inkstick, received from my late father-in-law, who was well-versed in calligraphy.
This item is Jingu-boku, a highly prestigious solid inkstick awarded at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, which symbolizes Kamakura. It is a rare ink that can only be obtained at the local awarding office and is not distributed in general calligraphy supply stores.
It is named after Empress Jingu, the enshrined deity of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, and is a special offering from the shrine, which has deep connections to calligraphy and literature. It is a valuable item not only for practical use but also as a good luck charm to wish for improvement in calligraphy or as a protective amulet.
It is housed in a paulownia wood box and is in good condition.
Please only purchase if you understand that this is a long-term home storage item.
