① Aoniyoshi, a premium fine-particle soot ink.
This is the older version of Aoniyoshi.
With fine-particle soot, it offers a lustrous and deep ink color when used for dark ink.
It spreads well, allowing for the expression of clean, delicate lines.
Suitable for kana and fine calligraphy.

The poem inscribed on the ink is an imperial poem by Emperor Shomu from the Manyoshu:
Aoniyoshi, though I dwell in a house built with the black wood of Nara's mountains, I never tire of it. (Meaning: Even though I live in a house built with the black wood of Nara's mountains, I never grow tired of it.)

Size (please allow for slight errors):
Length 8.8 cm, Width 2.3 cm, Thickness 1 cm,
Weight 28g, slightly less than a 2-cho size, well-aged.
This is an older ink made over 20 years ago and has a very pleasant aroma.

*Each ink stick is measured and photographed individually.
