Antique German Victorian Motto Shaving Mug Think of Me Gold Gilt Porcelain

Antique Victorian-era porcelain motto cup manufactured in Germany during the late 1800s to early 1900s. Often referred to as a friendship mug or shaving mug, these sentimental “motto ware” cups were commonly exchanged as tokens of affection, remembrance, or courtship. This example features the phrase “Think of Me” in hand-applied gold gilt script, a beautiful cobalt-to-light blue ombré glaze, and raised embossed floral and vine decoration with gold gilt accents. These decorative gift mugs were typically imported from anonymous or unbranded German porcelain manufacturers and remain highly collectible today. Approximate measurements: 2.6 inches tall, 3.3 inches in diameter, and about 4 inches wide including the handle.  Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear. Gold gilt shows expected rubbing and wear, particularly around the rim and raised decoration. Light surface marks and minor manufacturing imperfections are present, consistent with its age.
