Four squat, wide-mouthed stoneware mugs with a gently dimpled body and a glaze that does the work of a sunset: soft teal-blue across the top third, mottling into deeper indigo where it pools in the dimples, then a hard dark band, then a warm burnished copper-bronze running down to the foot. The interiors are a pale sea-green that reads almost mint against the darker exterior. The dimpling catches light unevenly so the two colors never quite meet in the same place on any two mugs.  Roscher's stoneware lines are built around high-fire reactive glazing, where the kiln rather than the decorator decides the final pattern, and the base of each carries the mark: ROSCHER over STONEWARE, with dishwasher-safe notation and Made in China. En gres is simply French for stoneware. These are the wide, low, cradle-in-two-hands shape rather than a tall commuter mug - better suited to a slow cappuccino than a travel lid.
