Japanese Painting Supplies: 56 Toki Plates, Other Japanese Painting Tools, and Bijin-ga (Beautiful Women Pictures) Textbook - Showa Era Antique
This is a set of Japanese painting tools.
A total of 56 toki-zara (mixing plates) of various sizes.
*Please refer to the images for the sizes and quantities of the toki-zara.
This set includes old sorting plates, a teapot-like vessel for dissolving something, a mini pot and two types of pestles for crushing something, a handle for toasting something, and a box of Hakurei. [Manufacturer: Nakagawa Gofun Seizosho (Uji Wahakurei)].
The toki-zara are used items with chips and stains. We would like to offer them to someone who understands that they are antiques used between the 1945s and 1950s.
These were tools used by my father, so we are unsure of their exact use and purpose today. However, we are listing them in the hope that they can be utilized by someone starting Japanese painting.
As shipping costs are quite high, we may not be able to offer a discount. Instead, we will include How to Draw Beautiful Women (old book), which my father used as a reference. He had marked Akamaru in the tools section, so we surmise that he gathered these tools by referring to this book.
Thank you for your consideration.
