ZEISS IKON Ikonta 520/2 Excellent Condition

This is a Zeiss Ikon Contax camera, model 520/2, released in 1929. It is a high-quality folding strut camera that uses 6x9 roll film, with the Super Ikonta considered its pinnacle. According to documentation, this camera is equipped with a Novar-N 10.5 cm f6.3 lens and no other lenses have been fitted.

The lens has been disassembled and cleaned, so it is in good condition. However, as it is a lens from approximately 100 years ago, there are slight polishing marks that appear to be from a previous owner.

The lens uses a front element rotation focusing system, which rotates smoothly due to recent greasing. The shutter operates smoothly at all speeds (1/100, 1/50, 1/25, B, T). Other functions, including the folding and unfolding mechanisms, operate smoothly (serviced).
The exterior is clean with no dents, though minor paint peeling has been repaired.

While few people may shoot with this camera today, if one were to, it would likely involve shooting with the aperture set to f32 and using T or B mode with a stopwatch to determine exposure, taking into account depth of field due to factors like film flatness, shutter speed uncertainty, and focus shift with aperture changes. Typically, one would remove the lens from this camera and use it with a modern interchangeable lens roll film camera.

As the exterior of the camera is in good condition, it has been stored without removing the lens. It has been serviced and is now listed for sale. Please note that the reference book used for shooting is not included.
