Kyudo Yugake (Glove) Shuri - Beautiful Condition
Thank you for viewing.
This is a Yugake (archery glove) for Kyudo, named Akari, a Yotsugake (four-fingered glove). Akari is positioned as the highest grade and is a very rare item, with online orders currently suspended.
Furthermore, it has been announced that some parts of the Yugake will be transitioning to overseas leather in recent years, but this item is made with Japanese deerskin.
I purchased this at a store for approximately 250,000 yen. Due to price revisions, it is estimated that equivalent specifications would now cost over 300,000 yen.
It has only been used for a few shots at the dojo and is in near-unused condition. There is minimal deformation in the cuff and thumb stall areas, and the leather is in good condition. The leather is still relatively firm and can be broken in further.
Regarding my hand size, based on Yugake I've used previously, I would estimate a size 5 for Kato Kyugu and around ML for Saya Kyugu.
It will be shipped with the original paulownia wood box it came with.
It has been stored in a dehumidified cabinet since purchase.
As it is a natural material, please understand that there may be minor scratches or individual differences inherent to leather.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment, and I will add photos or take measurements.
I am selling this because I will be taking a break from Kyudo due to an injury. I hope to pass it on to someone who will cherish it.
