Vintage Sayei Japan MCM Pottery Vase Lascaux Cave Art Bulls Tribal Ceramic
Anoname
This striking Mid-Century Modern (MCM) vintage pottery vase features artwork inspired by the prehistoric cave paintings of Lascaux. One side depicts two bulls (or possibly antelopes), while the reverse is decorated with ancient-inspired symbols, giving the piece a distinctive primitive modern aesthetic. I believe it was manufactured in Japan by the Sayei Company. The vase is in excellent pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks, or fractures, with the exception of a flaw on the bottom of the vase (please see photos). This does not affect how the vase sits. There is also a tiny white dot near the rim, just to the left of the opening. It does not feel like a chip and appears to be a characteristic rather than damage. Measurements are approximate: - 4.5 Tall - 8 Widest point
