Viking Art Glass Persimmon Vtg Orange Divided‎ Candy Relish Amorphic Dish 60s

Part of Viking's Epic line, the sleek, sweeping curves of this lovely dish were meant to look modern and futuristic for America's post-war ushering in of the 1950's and 60's atomic age. A classic example of Mid-Century Modern (MCM) design, it is often referred to as a divided bon-bon or relish dish. Its shape is defined by a unique organic/amorphic form that shied away from art deco's strict era of geometric shapes by incorporating a flowing pulled look to mimic organic shapes like a stylized leaf or abstract eye. The winged ends are pulled out into graceful, pointed wings or handles and give it a sense of movement. Condition: Excellent with no found damage and a brilliant original gloss shine. Appears to have been a collected piece used for display.... there is no evidence of use or neglect. Please see all photos to complete the description. Shipping: USPS with tracking.
