Antique Victorian Italian Majolica Relish Server, Handled Bowl, Colorful Flowers

A stunning relish server/bowl of Italian Majolica pottery, glazed in cream color with painted flowers in yellow, mauve, blue, and green. The border is mauve, and there is a ring handle at the center that is brown. On either side of the handle are 3-D flowers in blue, mauve, purple, and orange. There are also faint painted blue lines throughout the bowl that look like crazing but are not. There is a bit of crazing, but these blue lines are painted. The outside of the bowl is decorated with splashes of mauve. The rim of the bowl is irregular and appears to be shaped by hand, with various juts and bumps forming an unusual shape. It is definitely one of a kind! It is marked with the word Italy in green paint on the bottom, and it has a dry ring foot. This bowl measures 6 in diameter and 1.75 deep. As mentioned above, there is some crazing. There are also two small glaze chips at the rim where just the layer of glaze has chipped off; these are at the top edge of the rim and the larger one is about the size of a flea. On the underside, near the base there is what appears to be a manufacturing flaw where the glaze has been scraped so there is a tiny wedge with no glaze, and a pile of glaze right next to it. Aside from these small flaws, this bowl is gorgeous with no chips or cracks. PLEASE READ DESCRIPTIONS CAREFULLY AND VIEW ALL THE PHOTOS. Most of the vintage items in my shop are pre-loved; therefore, I do not know what type of environment they came from. 05142467
