Description
Add some functional, whimsical 1910-mid century art to your home. This is a highly sought after collectors piece. Very Unique humorous novelty incense burner/ashtray, of a long headed character with a with a face only a Mother could love. He has a monocle, and his title reads “ Sweet Adeline” Made in Occupied Japan This old chap was made to be an ashtray back in the mid century, but I have always used him as an incense burner. With cone incense placed in the mouth the smoke emerges from his ears, giving a truly whimsical mid century experience. His collar is actually a match striker. 5 variations of this figure were made. The collection is known as Barber Shop singing Quartet. Check out my closet I have a couple more from this collection. This item is hard to find especially in such excellent condition. He has very little wear, no matches were ever struck on the collar. He is very clean with no issues. He’s a real conversation piece, he rules any room, very eye catching. My Children and Grandchildren bring their friends over just to see these wonderful guys. Composition: porcelain Dimensions: 5” tall, 2” wide Early Mid Century, Whimsical Mid Century fine art. A unique addition for any collector.
